Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been working out hard to bring back cricket in their country on a regular interval. They got a big breakthrough in the year 2019 when they successfully hosted a T20I, ODI and Test series in their country against Sri Lanka.

And, there are reports that Bangladesh will tour to Pakistan for playing a Test and T20I series but only when they will get a nod from the government officials after verifying the security provisions. Meanwhile, Chris Gayle has cleared the air about security issues in Pakistan.

Majority of the countries stepped back from touring to Pakistan after a tragic terrorist attack that took place in 2009 involving Sri Lanka cricket team. After that instance, all the games that were to be played in Men in Green country were shifted to UAE as a neutral venue. However, after Sri Lanka’s tour to Pakistan certainly opened the doors for PCB to bring back the international games back to their nation.

Chris Gayle opines over security in Pakistan

Currently, they are scheduled to host Bangladesh for a couple of series but Pakistan is not getting any appropriate signal from BCB officials over the same. Now, Chris Gayle, who is currently playing for Chattogram Challengers in Bangladesh Premier League 2019-20.

He said that Pakistan is the safest place to travel and play cricket. He also added the fact that due to presidential security the players are supposed to be in very good hands with no danger. In a hilarious fashion, Gayle recited that he feels Bangladesh is also a safer place.

“Pakistan is one of the safest places right now in the world. They say you will get presidential security so you are in good hands. I mean we are in good hands too in Bangladesh, right?,” Gayle said as quoted by Hindustan Times.

Gayle also opined over the idea of four day Test as he said that five-day game had set a trend so why to change the format. As per him, it is a life-changing experience for a player.

“It [five-day Test] has set the trend and it’s been there for ages so why go and mess with that. If they give other players a chance to experience that because it can be a life-changing experience to play five-day cricket. It is a mental state so that you can cope in life as well,” Chris Gayle added.
