Petrol Diesel Price / Petrol became cheaper by Rs 5 in this state relief on diesel too

The Shinde government of Maharashtra has given great relief to the people. The government has cut VAT on petrol and diesel. After this relief of the government, petrol has become cheaper by Rs 5 and diesel by Rs 3 in Maharashtra. The decision was taken during the second cabinet meeting of the new government, which was formed last month after former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray resigned.

CM Eknath Shinde said after the meeting that the Maharashtra government will reduce VAT on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 3 per liter respectively.

Petrol in Mumbai is currently selling at Rs 111.35 and diesel for Rs 97.28 per liter. After this deduction, petrol will get Rs 106.35 and diesel Rs 97.28 per liter. Petrol in Pune will cost Rs 105.88 per liter, while diesel will cost Rs 92.37 for a litre.

After the new rates are implemented, the price of one liter of petrol in Thane will come down to Rs 106.49. Diesel price in Thane will come down to Rs 94.42 per litre.

The central government had made huge cuts

Earlier in the month of May, the central government had cut excise duty. The Center had reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and on diesel by Rs 6 per liter. After the reduction of excise duty by the Center, many state governments had reduced VAT. Some non-BJP ruled states like Maharashtra and Kerala also reduced VAT.
