Faridabad: The Faridabad Police on Saturday saved a Delhi woman who tried to jump off a metro station balcony. The police officials convinced the woman to not take such a drastic measure and rescued her from the edges.The incident took place on July 24 at around 6:30 pm at Faridabad's Sector-28 metro station.The police officials rushed to the spot upon learning that a woman was attempting to end her life by jumping from the metro station.Sub-Inspector Dhan Prakash and constable Sarfaraz, who were posted at the police station at the time, reached the spot promptly. Assessing the situation, Dhan Prakash, along with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and metro staff, tried to occupy the woman's attention and kept talking to her. Meanwhile, constable Sarfaraz climbed the balcony from the other side and came closer to the woman to prevent her from jumping.The police officials, with the help of CISF personnel and metro staff, were able to safely rescue the woman.The Faridabad Police shared a video of the incident and praised the officials for risking their well-being to save a life.
The police then tried to talk to the girl to find out why she attempted to take such extreme measures.During interrogation, it came to light that the woman is a resident of Delhi and worked in a Sai Export Company, located in Sector 28 of Faridabad. The woman was under a lot of duress due to her work, and had attempted to take her life because of the mental stress.The police counseled the woman against committing suicide and advised her to reach out to people and talk about her problems.
