Delhi Weather Update: Cold is at its peak in North India, and cold wave continues to wreak havoc in many states including Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department has predicted cold and rain in the coming days, due to which people have been advised to be extra cautious.Chances of cold wave and rain in Delhi-NCRThe cold is at its peak in Delhi-NCR. The cold has increased further due to the absence of sun for the last few days and dense fog. According to the Meteorological Department:There is a possibility of dense fog along with cold wave on January 9 and 10. During this time the minimum temperature may drop to 6-8 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature will be around 16 degrees Celsius.Light rain and drizzle are expected on January 11 and 12. During this time it will be cloudy, and the cold is expected to increase.The weather may clear from January 13, and the temperature will improve slightly.The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert due to cold wave. Visibility may also be affected due to smog and fog.Weather of Uttar PradeshThe effect of severe cold continues in Uttar Pradesh as well. However, the weather is expected to be clear on January 8.Dense fog and cold wave are likely in some parts of western and eastern UP.It may rain in western UP after January 11. There are also chances of rain in Noida and Ghaziabad.However, no special warning has been issued regarding the weather of UP at present.Other hilly and coastal areasSnowfall will continue in the hilly states of North India. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir. On the other hand, the effect of cold is also being seen in coastal areas.Advice to take precautionsDuring cold wave: Use woolen clothes and try to keep yourself warm.During fog: Take special care while driving and use low beam lights.Be prepared for rain: Carry an umbrella and raincoat on January 11-12.ConclusionDue to severe cold and changing weather in North India, life is getting affected.
