J&K Election 2024: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi fiercely targeted the BJP and the central government in a public meeting held in Ramban, Jammu. He assured to get the state status back to Jammu and Kashmir and said that BJP is working to spread hatred, while the aim of Congress is to spread love.

Rahul Gandhi said in the public meeting, "BJP is spreading hatred in the country today. Their job is to spread hatred, but our job is to spread love. Hatred can only be cut with love." He specifically mentioned Jammu and Kashmir and said that the division of states in the country has happened many times, but for the first time statehood has been taken away.

Rahul Gandhi accused the central government and BJP and said that not only the state status was abolished, but the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir have also been taken away. He said, "We wanted that first you get the state status back, then elections should be held. But BJP does not want this. They say that first elections will be held, then there will be talk on statehood."

Commitment of India Alliance

Rahul Gandhi expressed the commitment of India Alliance to get statehood for Jammu and Kashmir. He said, “Whatever the BJP people do, India Alliance will pressurize to get Jammu and Kashmir its rights. We will get statehood for Jammu and Kashmir.”

Hatred vs. Love

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that the current fight in the country is between two ideologies—Hatred and Love. He said, “We walked from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, and gave the slogan ‘Mohabbat ki dukaan kholni hai nafrat ke bazaar mein nafrat ke bazaar mein Mohabbat ki dukaan kholni hai’. But BJP spreads hatred, they break, we unite.”

Problems of local people and unemployment

Rahul Gandhi assured the local people of Jammu and Kashmir that Congress will work to solve their problems. He said that outsiders are taking advantage of the resources of Jammu and Kashmir, while the local people are not getting full benefit of them. “You are giving electricity to the country, but the money for electricity is being taken from your pocket,” Rahul said.

He also raised the issue of unemployment, “Prime Minister Modi used to be proud when he came here earlier, but now it is not so. The entire government is working for two billionaires today, and the youth is facing the problem of unemployment.”

King's rule

Rahul Gandhi also took a dig at the LG of Jammu and Kashmir, saying, “In 1947, we removed the kings and formed a democratic government, but now it is again the king's rule. Now the LG is the king here. That is why our first step is to get the state status back to Jammu and Kashmir.”

This statement of Rahul Gandhi has further increased the political heat in Jammu and Kashmir, and has clarified his party's strategy in the upcoming elections.
