Cricket | Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was not selected for the final match of the World Test Championship against New Zealand in England and the subsequent five-match Test series against the hosts. It was one of the biggest and shocking decisions. He was later told that he was not selected for the England tour because he was unsure of his fitness in the long form of cricket. But now it is being told in media reports that Bhubaneswar has not been selected because he does not want to play in the biggest format of cricket.According to a report in 'Times of India', 'Bhubaneswar now wants to shift the focus from Test cricket to limited over cricket. All those who know him closely, know that his work drill has changed a lot in the recent past. Also, heavy weight training, comfort zone of white ball cricket and long distance from long spell of test cricket are also major reasons for this decision.Talking about his Test cricket career, he has not played a first-class match since January 2018. He last played a Test match against South Africa in Johannesburg in January 2018. Bhuvneshwar was then selected for the limited-overs format, but was not considered fit for the Test matches. Bhuvneshwar suffered an injury against Chennai Super Kings in the last season of the IPL, due to which he could not join the tour of Australia.Bhuvneshwar made his Test debut for India in 2013. He has played only 21 Test matches after this. He has 63 wickets in 21 Tests at an average of 26.09. His selection in India's Sri Lanka tour is almost certain. The Indian team will play three ODIs and three T20 matches in Sri Lanka. He can also be given the command of Team India in this series.
