Russia-Ukraine War: Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu spoke to India's Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on phone today and discussed Russia's concerns about the possible use of 'Dirty Bomb' by Ukraine. The Russian Embassy has tweeted that today the Defense Minister of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, has a phone conversation with the Defense Minister of India, Rajnath Singh. The situation in Ukraine has been discussed. Sergei Shoigu also apprised Rajnath of Russia's concerns over the provocation of possible use of 'dirty bombs' by Ukraine.

On the conversation, the Defense Ministry also issued a statement saying that in a phone conversation with the Defense Minister of Russia, Rajnath Singh emphasized the need to adopt the path of dialogue, diplomacy to resolve the Ukraine conflict. Rajnath Singh told Sergei Shoigu that neither side should consider the option of nuclear attack. The possibility of using nuclear/radiological weapons goes against the basic principles of humanity. The two ministers discussed bilateral defense cooperation as well as the deteriorating situation in Ukraine.

Ukraine denies Russia's claims on dirty bombs

However, Ukraine's Atomic Energy Agency on Tuesday rejected Russia's claim that Kyiv was trying to provoke it with a radioactive device - the so-called dirty bomb. Shoigu called his British, French, Turkish and American counterparts, claiming that Ukraine was trying to provoke him with a radioactive device—the so-called dirty bomb.
