In the 30th match of IPL 2022, two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a close defeat by seven runs against Rajasthan Royals at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Batting first after losing the toss on the 15th birthday of IPL, Jos Buttler scored 217 runs for five wickets due to the second century of the season and then on the basis of Yuzvendra Chahal's hat-trick. Kolkata was bundled out for 210 with two balls to spare. Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer has blamed a player for this defeat. This is the first time in the history of IPL that a century has been scored in a match and a hat-trick has also been taken.Shreyas Iyer said after the match, the start we got, we were batting according to the required run rate. Finch batted well. After that we slowed down and the match slipped out of our hands. Yuji (Chahal) changed the course of the match. I wanted to play till the end and the plan was that the batsmen from the other end would take the risk. There was a match up against Chahal but I got out unfortunately.Praising Butler's batting, the KKR captain said, 'Butler is a classic batsman. He hits the ball in all four directions. He batted well. I didn't think the dew made much of an impact today. It was a good pitch and Brabourne has not proved to be a good ground for our team. When you chase such a big score, you are under pressure. I wanted to bat aggressively with the first ball. No matter how big the target, I was confident that if the opposition team can score this score, then I can also score this score.
