Sang the first song 50 years ago

Sharda Sinha started her career in 1974 when she sang the first Bhojpuri song. But her real identity came from the Chhath song "Ug Ho Suruj Dev" sung in 1978. This song not only made a record but also strengthened the tradition of Chhath Puja. This song of Sharda is still sung at Chhath Ghats. The relationship between Sharda Sinha and Chhath festival had become an unbreakable link.

After this, she also entered Bollywood in 1989. The song "Kahe Tose Sajna" sung in the film Maine Pyar Kiya gave her a new identity. After this, she also spread the magic of her voice in songs like "Taar Bijli Se Patle Hamare Piya" in Gangs of Wasseypur.

Relation with Supaul, Bihar

Sharda Sinha was born on 1 October 1952 in Hulas, a small village in Supaul district of Bihar. Her father Sukhdev Thakur was the principal of High School. Sharda completed her early education from Hulas village itself. After this, she struggled for many years in Delhi and Patna to make a career in music. Her life was full of struggles, but her tireless efforts gave her a distinctive place in the world of music.

The faith and emotions contained in Chhath songs were molded by Sharda Sinha in her voice and she propagated the glory of Chhath all over the world.

Veteran leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah expressed deep condolences on the demise of Sharda Sinha. PM Modi said that Maithili and Bhojpuri folk songs sung by Sharda Sinha made a place in the hearts of people for decades. Her departure is an irreparable loss for the music world.

At the age of 72, Sharda Sinha lent her voice not only to Bhojpuri and Maithili songs, but also to Hindi films. Her contribution to the Indian music world will always be remembered.
