More than two decades after the Kandahar plane hijacking, the family of victim Rupin Katyal has finally got justice. It is being told that Zahoor Mistry alias Zahid Akhund, the killer of hijacker and flight passenger Rupin Katyal, was shot dead on 1 March by unidentified gunmen in Karachi, Pakistan. According to media reports, on March 1, two bike-borne assailants entered the house under target killing and shot and killed Zahoor Mistry. Zahoor Mistry is a terrorist of Jaish and was living as a businessman in Karachi by hiding his identity.
