Srinagar / Terrorists hurl grenade near bus stand in J&K's Sopore, 6 civilians injured

Terrorists hurled a grenade near a bus stand in J&K's Sopore on Monday, injuring six civilians. The security forces have cordoned off the entire area and launched search operations. This comes a day before J&K visit of 28 members of European Parliament. Terrorists had attacked a joint patrol party of CRPF and police in Srinagar on Saturday, injuring six.

NEW DELHI : Just days before the Centre is set to roll out the Jammu and Kashmir reorganisation Act on 31 October, unidentified terrorists hurled a grenade at civilians at a bus stand in north Kashmir’s Sopore, injuring seven.

While security forces immediately cordoned off the area and began a combing operation, forces said that some civilians sustained severe injuries.

“In Sopore, Baramulla district, a grenade blast took place near Hotel Plaza at 4:15pm wherein seven civilians reportedly sustained injuries (3 serious and 4 stable). Troops of 179 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force reached the location and cordoned off the area," the CRPF said.
