The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the group of T20 World Cup matches. The groups were determined in Oman on Friday. Interestingly, India is in the same group with its arch-rivals Pakistan. Both are in Group-2 of Super-12. The last time both the teams met was in the 2019 ODI World Cup, in which India won.Due to the Corona epidemic, the T20 World Cup will be played in UAE and Oman instead of India from October 17 to November 14. Along with ICC officials, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah also participated in the ceremony in Oman. The match schedule of the T20 World Cup is likely to be released next week.Eight qualifying teams will participate in the first round of the tournament, which will be played in Oman and the UAE. Four of these teams will advance to the Super 12 round. The eight teams in the preliminary round include Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman and Papua New Guinea. The final of the tournament will be played on November 14.The upcoming tournament will be the first T20 World Cup since 2016. The last time West Indies won the title by defeating England. India defeated Pakistan by 6 wickets in the group match of Super 10. In the semi-final, India had to face defeat at the hands of Windies by 7 wickets.
