Today, on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the stock market and currency market will remain closed, due to which trading will not be possible. Equity, derivatives and interest rate derivatives will not be traded on BSE and NSE. However, the commodity derivatives segment will be open from 5 pm to 11 pm. Now the markets will open only on Monday.

Actually, today on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the stock market and currency market will be closed. That is, today there will be no trading on neither BSE nor NSE. Due to this, there will be no trading in equity, derivatives, SLB (Securities Lending and Borrowing), currency derivatives and interest rate derivatives.

The commodity derivatives segment will also be closed today from 9 am to 5 pm, but after 5 pm it will open again and trading will continue till 11 pm. Since today is the last day of the trading week, now the markets will open directly on Monday i.e. after three days. This information is special for regular investors of the market, because after Friday's holiday, they will be able to plan for the next trading directly on Monday.

Stock Market Holiday Calendar: BSE List

According to the BSE holiday calendar, there will be a total of 16 days in the year 2024 when trading will be completely closed. So far, the stock market has been closed for 13 days this year. The last time the market was closed was on November 1 due to Laxmi Pujan on the occasion of Diwali, although a special Muhurat trading session was held from 6:00 pm to 7:10 pm. Apart from this, the market will be closed on Christmas Day on December 25. There is still one more holiday in November, which will be on November 20 due to elections in Maharashtra.
