Constitution Day: On the occasion of Constitution Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today participated in the program organized in the Supreme Court and wished the countrymen a Happy Constitution Day. Expressing his respect for the Constitution, he saluted the members of the Constituent Assembly. On this occasion, he discussed the importance of the Constitution and the democratic traditions of India. He said, "The original copy of the Constitution has a picture of Shri Ram and Mata Sita, which reflects our cultural values. In this spirit, we have taken historic steps to empower women."He also discussed the improvements in the lives of senior citizens. "There was a time when senior citizens had to go to the bank to get pension and give proof of being alive. Now this work has become possible from home. Apart from this, free insurance of up to Rs 5 lakh is being given to the countrymen."Commitment to work within the ambit of the ConstitutionPM Modi quipped, “I have done the work assigned to me by the Constitution with full devotion.
