US-Yemen Airstrikes: US President Donald Trump has taken a tough stand on Yemen's Houthi rebels and intensified military action against them. Despite repeated warnings, the US heavily bombed Houthi bases when the attacks did not stop. 18 people are reported to have been killed in these attacks on Saturday.

Trump said in his statement that the US military would take every possible step to protect the sea routes. He made it clear that as long as the Houthi rebels continue to attack international waterways, the US will respond with all its might.

Iran was also given a strong warning

The US not only took action against the Houthis but also gave a strong message to Iran. Trump said that if Iran continues to support the Houthis, it will have to face serious consequences. US fighter jets attacked areas like Sanaa, Saada, Hodeida, Bayda and Marib, where Houthi rebels are active.

Houthis' counter threat

The Houthi rebels have reacted sharply to this attack by the US. He claimed that civilians have been killed in US attacks and they will take revenge for this. Houthi spokesman Mohammed Abdulsalam said that the US is making false claims and the Houthi group is not harming international sea routes.

The US has indicated that these attacks are just the beginning and if the Houthi rebels do not stop their activities, then more stringent action will be taken in the future. This military operation is expected to increase regional tensions, which may worsen the situation in the Middle East.
