IPL 2021 | Rising fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir, Umran Malik, who played just three matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2021, has been selected as the net bowler for the T20 World Cup. Umran created a sensation by throwing the fastest ball of IPL 2021 in the match played against Royal Challengers Bangalore. He bowled at a speed of 153 kmph and surpassed Enrij Nortje's record. Umran was successful in leaving his bowling in his IPL debut itself and Kane Williamson called him a special player. The T20 World Cup is to begin from October 17.A source has confirmed this while talking to ANI. The source said, “Yes, he will stay with the team as a net bowler. His performance in the IPL was excellent and we think it would be a great idea to train the batsmen against him in the nets. Also this is a great opportunity for him to bowl in front of quality batsmen like Kohli and Rohit. In his debut match against KKR, Umran bowled at a speed of over 150 and left all the Indian fast bowlers behind. This fast bowler from Jammu and Kashmir was added to the team by the team of Sunrisers Hyderabad as a replacement for T Natarajan. Umran, however, does not have the experience of playing many matches. He has played only one T20 match so far. After bowling the fastest ball of IPL 2021, Umran had said that the speed in his bowling was from the beginning. He had told, 'From the very beginning, I bowl fast. When I used to play cricket with Cosco ball, I used to bowl fast. We used to play one-over matches and I used to bowl yorkers while bowling fast. The U-19 trials took place in 2018 and when I bowled, the selectors caught sight of me. I was bowling in joggers shoes, then a friend of mine gave me spike shoes and then I came in the U-19 team.Umran had further said, 'Then I came in the under-23 team. I have been practicing continuously since 2018. After U-23, I got a chance to play Ranji and Vijay Hazare Trophy. I thank the SRH franchise team that I got the opportunity to play with them. Irfan Pathan helped me, he told me in which area I need to work. In the nets, when I had to bowl to Kane Williamson or David Warner, I was scared at first. After that I kept learning and it helped me.
