Maharashtra Politics: Raj Thackeray has targeted Uddhav Thackeray on the issue of Dharavi project. Issuing a statement, Raj Thackeray has asked Uddhav whether the morcha was taken out because there was no settlement with him (Adani)? Raj Thackeray further said on this that what Adani has that he can run the airport, he can also run the coal mines. He said that for such a big project, you should have asked for tender and design from Tata Group. It should have been known what was going to happen there (Dharavi). We have officials in Dharavi, I have spoken to him.

Raj Thackeray targeted Uddhav

Raj Thackeray further said that I had told a person from Adani Group to show me your design. My only question is why Mahavikas Aghadi has woken up from its sleep today. It has been about 8-10 months since this project was announced. Why was the morcha taken out today? Because settlement is not happening, that is why this morcha has been taken out? He said that Mahavikas Aghadi has awakened after 8-10 months. Have they asked what is going to happen there (Dharavi), is the Morcha going to settle only by putting pressure on it? You (media) ask them.

What is Dharavi Project?

Let us tell you that Dharavi is a slum area spread over about 2.8 square kilometers. Due to its proximity to Bandra-Kurla Complex, the price of this place is quite high. There are many small industries here, which provide employment to one lakh people. Under the project, high rise buildings and many other types of developments are to be done here. Under this project, which started in 2004, there is a plan to resettle 68 thousand people somewhere else. For this, they have been promised ready-made houses. In the year 2011, the government canceled the tender here. Later the tender was floated again. This project has been given to Adani Group company which is now facing opposition.
