Indian captain Virat Kohli has suffered a major setback in the latest ICC rankings. Pakistan captain Babar Azam has ended the reign of Virat in ODIs. Babar has now become the number one batsman in the world in ODI rankings. Babar now has 865 rating points, while Kohli has slipped to second place with 857 rating points. Indian opener Rohit Sharma is in third place with 825 points. These are the best rating points of 26-year-old Babar Azam.Babar Azam had scored 228 runs in the recent three-match ODI series against South Africa. He was the highest run-scorer in the series after Fakhar Zaman (302). Virat Kohli held the number one position in ODIs for 1258 consecutive days.In the ODI batting rankings, Ross Taylor of New Zealand is fourth (801) and Australian captain Aaron Finch (791) is at number five. Other players from Pakistan have also benefited in the ODI rankings. Opener Fakhar Zaman has now moved up five places to 7th position (778).Babar is the fourth Pakistani batsman to reach number one in the ODI rankings. Zaheer Abbas (1983–84), Javed Miandad (1988–89) and Mohammad Yusuf (2003) have achieved this position before Babur.
