Aam Aadmi Party: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi made a big announcement on Friday that the 'Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana', which provides monthly assistance of Rs 1,000 to women, will be launched in the next 7 to 10 days. This scheme has been created with the aim of providing financial empowerment to women and improving their economic condition.

Special features of the scheme

1. The amount will be given in two installments

Chief Minister Atishi said that the government is busy finalizing the registration process. Before the end of the current financial year, i.e. by March 31, 2025, women will be provided assistance in 1 or 2 installments under this scheme.

2. The amount will increase in future

Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has announced that if his party remains in power, the monthly assistance amount of the scheme will be increased to Rs 2,100.

Women's Empowerment: Government's Goal

Chief Minister Atishi described the scheme as a big step towards making women self-reliant. He said, “We had promised to give assistance of Rs 1,000 to women, which we have now fulfilled. This scheme is being implemented despite the obstacles of the opposition.”

The scheme aims to ensure that women do not depend on other family members for small needs and they can become financially independent.

Eligibility and conditions

However, not all women will get the benefit of this scheme. Chief Minister Atishi told that there are some eligibility conditions for the scheme:

Expelled women:

Current or former government employees.

Women who are or have been MPs, MLAs or councilors.

Women who have paid income tax in the previous financial year.

Women already receiving some kind of pension.
