Delhi: Monsoon in Delhi has missed its knock on time for the third time in the last 12 years. The arrival time of monsoon in Delhi was June 27. Now meteorologists predict that the monsoon will knock by June 29 or 30. According to meteorologists, the arrival of Southwest Monsoon in Kerala this year was three days ahead of time. At that time the monsoon conditions were favorable and the monsoon winds were progressing rapidly. Due to this it was estimated that the monsoon may arrive earlier. Now monsoon can reach Delhi with a delay of three days from the scheduled date.
Westerly winds stopped the pace of monsoonAccording to Mahesh Palawat, meteorologist of the Meteorological Monitoring Organization, the progress of Southwest Monsoon started prematurely this time. But, for the last eight days, westerly winds were blowing over North and Central India. Due to this the progress of monsoon could not be rapid from central and north India. This has delayed the onset of monsoon in Delhi.People are troubled by the heat amid the delay of monsoonThe wait for the monsoon has increased once again for the people of Delhi. At the same time, due to the delay of monsoon, Delhiites are facing severe heat. The people of the capital Delhi were troubled by the scorching heat and humidity on Monday. Delhi's Standard Observatory at Safdarjung recorded the day's maximum temperature of 40.9 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. Whereas, the minimum temperature was 29.8 degree Celsius. Najafgarh recorded a maximum temperature of 42.1 degree Celsius.
Will have to bear the same heat for two daysIt was a humid summer in most parts of Delhi on Monday. The situation is likely to remain the same in the next two days as well. The Meteorological Department has forecast that thunderstorms can be seen on Tuesday. Whereas, winds with a speed of 30 to 40 km are expected on Wednesday. There is a possibility of rain with winds of 30 to 40 on Thursday.
