Team India News: Former Team India cricketer Virender Sehwag has made a wonderful demand from the BCCI. Virender Sehwag has appealed to BCCI Secretary Jai Shah to change the name of Team India in the World Cup starting next month. Sehwag said that the team should be fielded in the name of India instead of India. Sehwag wrote in a tweet that I have always believed that the name should be such that it instills pride in us. We are Indians and the name India was given by the British. That's why the name of Team India should also be changed. Sehwag tagged Jai Shah on Twitter and demanded that India should be written on the chest of our players in the World Cup.Virender Sehwag made this tweet after the news that such news started coming that soon the official name of the country can be changed to India. Meaning in English also the name of the country will be written as India. Sehwag used the hashtag India Vs Nepal instead of India vs Nepal during the match against Nepal.
This international cricket team has changed its nameLet us tell you that this will not be the first time that the name of an international cricket team will change. Before this, the name of the Netherlands team has been changed. Earlier this team used to play under the name of Holland, but on January 1, 2020, this country changed its official name to Netherlands. Sehwag has also given the example of Netherlands. Sehwag tweeted that the Netherlands team had come to play in the 1996 World Cup under the name of Holland. But in 2003, this team played under the name of Netherlands and even today it is known by the same name. Burma has also changed its name to Myanmar. There are many countries which have returned to their original names.I have always believed a name should be one which instills pride in us.
