Olympics 2024: Indian players are performing very well in Paris Olympics 2024. India has won a total of 6 medals so far, including five bronze and one silver medal. In the 57 kg weight category of wrestling, India's Aman Sehrawat defeated Darian Toi Cruz 13-5 to win the bronze medal. This is India's first medal in wrestling in the current Olympics.

After climbing on the mat, the focus is only on wrestling: Aman

Aman Sehrawat said that it feels very good. I am the youngest player to win a medal. This is just the beginning. I have to go a long way. We will also look at the target of 2028 and 2032. After reaching the final, the tension reduces. Now before the bronze medal, there is a thought about what will happen in wrestling tomorrow. The countrymen have expectations. Medals have been coming continuously in wrestling since the last five Olympics. A lot was going on in my mind, but when I get on the mat, I only focus on wrestling.

Spent the whole night in the gym before the bronze medal match: Aman Sehrawat

Aman Sehrawat said that he spent the whole night in the gym before the bronze medal match. I have been practicing. It is very important to gain weight. Everyone comes to Chhatrasal Stadium thinking that they too will win a medal in the Olympics. The thinking of children is about medals.

Aman Sehrawat lost 4.5 kg weight in 10 hours

When Aman's weight was measured after losing the semi-final match to a Japanese wrestler, he had become 61.5 kg. Aman plays in the 57 kg category and this weight was 4.5 kg more than his category. After this, Indian coach Jagmander Singh and Virendra Dahiya, along with a total of 6-member wrestling team, decided to complete the mission of reducing Aman Sehrawat's weight. The big thing is that he had only 10 hours left.

Aman Sehrawat was first given a one and a half hour mat session, in which he was made to wrestle standing.

Aman Sehrawat was then given a one hour hot bath session.

After 12 o'clock at night, Aman Sehrawat did treadmill running for one hour in the gym.

Aman was given 30 minutes to rest and then he was given 5 sessions of sauna bath of 5 minutes each. In this way he lost 3.6 kg.

Finally, Aman was given a massage and after this the player did light jogging and a 15 minute running session.

After so much hard work, by 4.30 in the morning, Aman's weight became 56.9 kg which was 100 grams less than the limit.

Vinesh lost her medal

Aman Sehrawat losing 4.5 kg in 10 hours is a big deal because India's star wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified due to being overweight. Vinesh had secured a silver medal by making it to the final of the 50 kg category competition, but before the final she was found to be 100 grams more than the prescribed limit and as a result she was declared ineligible. Currently Vinesh's case is going on in CAS, whose decision may come soon.

These 6 athletes of India have won medals in Paris Olympics

Before Aman Sehrawat, Manu Bhaker (10 m air pistol), Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh (10 m air pistol mixed team), Swapnil Kusale (50 m rifle three positions) and the Indian men's hockey team won bronze medals in shooting at the Paris Olympics, while star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra won the silver medal. In wrestling, Anant Panghal (53 kg), Anshu Malik (57 kg) and Nisha Dahiya (68 kg) could not reach the medal race of their category. Vinesh Phogat (50 kg) reached the final but was disqualified due to excess weight. She has challenged this decision in the Sports Tribunal, on which the decision will come by Sunday evening. India's Ritika Hooda (76 kg) will present her challenge on Saturday.
