Rain alert in Delhi-NCR

The Meteorological Department has warned of rain and lightning in Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Light to moderate rain may occur in these areas in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Department, a thick blanket of fog will remain in many areas of North India for the next few days. On Sunday, light rain with thunder may occur in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. There is a possibility of rain and lightning in many areas on Monday as well. Heavy snowfall in many areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may further increase the cold.

Effect of fog on public life

The fog has had a bad effect on the traffic system. On Saturday, dense fog prevailed in many areas including Delhi, affecting flights and train services. More than 400 flights departed late at Delhi airport and the operation of many trains was also disrupted. Road traffic has also slowed down due to fog, causing a lot of trouble to the passengers.

Visibility status

According to the data of the Meteorological Department, the lowest visibility was recorded at 200 meters in Bahraich in eastern Uttar Pradesh, Aligarh in western Uttar Pradesh, Ludhiana and Halwara in Punjab. Visibility in Safdarjung in Delhi was 400 meters, while visibility up to 500 meters was recorded in Patna and Muzaffarpur.

Bonfires are being arranged at public places and special arrangements are being made in night shelters for homeless people.
