India / 2 CRPF jawans martyred, 3 injured in terrorist attack in Kashmir

Two personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were martyred and three were injured after terrorists opened fire at a patrolling party in Pampore in south Kashmir on Monday. The injured personnel were evacuated to the district hospital, where two succumbed to their injuries. Traffic was stopped on the highway after the attack and a search operation is on.

Srinagar: Two CRPF men succumbed to their injuries as terrorists opened fire on them near the Kandizal Bypass area of Pampore, on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday. According to reports, three others are undergoing medical treatment at the district hospital.

According to sources, all of them were part of a road opening party (ROP) in the area when unidentified terrorists opened fire at them.

”Troops of 110 Bn CRPF along with JKP carrying out ROP During which unknown terrorists (1250 hrs) fired upon the troops. In this incident total of 05 CRPF personnel sustained injuries and evacuated to district hospital,” the CRPF had said in a statement earlier.

Additional security forces personnel were deployed in the area following the attack and a search was launched to nab the terrorists.
