Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address an election meeting in Manipur today (Tuesday). Manipur will vote in two phases on February 28 and March 5. But in the meantime, two people with IED have been arrested by the police from the area near Kangpokpi in Manipur before the visit of Prime Minister Modi.

Police sources say that during the VVIP movement in the state for the elections, a plan was being made to carry out the terrorist attack. A conspiracy was being hatched to blast a VVIP convoy on the way from Imphal to Kangpokpi.

Let us inform that both the arrested terrorists are associated with a separatist organization named National Socialist Council of Nagaland. The police team is interrogating both the terrorists and trying to know who they were about to target.

When the police arrested these two and brought them to the Sekmai police station, their supporters attacked the police station during the night. After which the police had to fire tear gas shells and fired in the air.

Significantly, the Legislative Assembly elections in Manipur were to be held in the first two phases on February 27 and March 3. But then the Election Commission changed the polling dates. Now voting for the Legislative Assembly elections in Manipur will be held on 28 February and 5 March.
