Mahakumbh 2025: The event of Mahakumbh 2025 is going to start in Prayagraj from January 13. This religious event to be held at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati river is one of the biggest events in the world. To make it grand and well organized, all the departments including the government, administration and railways are fully prepared. Preparations are being made on a large scale to make this historic event a success.

Special preparations of Railways

Railways have planned to run 13,000 trains for the convenience of pilgrims during the Mahakumbh. These include 10,000 regular and 3,000 special trains. Apart from this, 560 trains will be run on the ring rail route, which will mainly connect Prayagraj and nearby religious places.

560 ticketing points have been set up at 9 major railway stations to provide better service to the passengers. These stations include stations like Prayagraj Junction, Naini, Phaphamau, Rambagh and Jhunsi. Railways has claimed the capacity to distribute 10 lakh tickets per day from these ticket counters.

Security and health facilities

Railways has deployed more than 18,000 RPS and SRP personnel for the safety of passengers. 1186 CCTV cameras have been installed at Prayagraj Junction, some of which are equipped with AI technology.

Under health services, 6-bed observation rooms have been built at the junction. All necessary facilities like oxygen cylinders, ECG machines, nebulizers, stretchers will be available here.

Cleanliness and infrastructure

Special attention has been given to cleanliness and environmental protection during the Maha Kumbh. One and a half lakh toilets and 1.60 lakh tents have been prepared for the pilgrims. 15,000 sanitation workers will be deployed to ensure cleanliness.

A 1250 km long pipeline has been laid for water supply. Apart from this, 67,000 LED lights, 2000 solar lights and 3 lakh saplings have been installed in the entire area.

Ghats and Roads

9 permanent ghats, 7 riverfront roads and temporary ghats have been built in 12 km area for Maha Kumbh. 7 new bus stations have also been prepared for the convenience of pilgrims.
