The BJP Parliamentary Board suddenly took a big decision and elected Jharkhand BJP State President Babulal Marandi as the leader of the legislative party. This indicated that the post of state president will soon be vacant, which is likely to be handed over to Raghuvar Das.

If political analysts are to be believed, BJP in Jharkhand is now trying to woo the OBC and tribal vote bank. In such a situation, speculation of major reshuffle in the organization has intensified. The appointment of Raghuvar Das, who comes from the OBC community, as the state president may be a part of this strategy of BJP.

Raghuvar Das's return from 'political death'

When Raghuvar Das was suddenly made the Governor of Odisha on 18 October 2023, it was considered his 'political end'. But on 24 December 2024, he resigned from the post of Governor and expressed his intention to play an active role in the BJP again. Now his daughter-in-law Purnima Das Sahu is an MLA from Jamshedpur East, which has strengthened his political stature.
