Bollywood / Actor Rajiv Kapoor passes away of heart attack aged 58

Actor Rajiv Kapoor, son of Raj Kapoor and younger brother of Rishi Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor, passed away at the age of 58 on Tuesday after suffering a heart attack. Rajiv's sister-in-law Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to confirm the news. Sharing a photo of the actor, Neetu wrote, "RIP."

Bollywood Desk: Bollywood actor Rajiv Kapoor died at the age of 58 on Tuesday. His sister-in-law Neetu Kapoor posted a picture of the actor on social media and she wrote: "RIP." Rajiv Kapoor was also a film producer and a director. He was a part of Bollywood's Kapoor clan. His elder brothers Randhir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor are also renowned Bollywood actors. Bollywood trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted that the actor died of heart attack. "Very sad news. Rajiv (Chimpu) Kapoor passes away following heart attack," he tweeted. He was best-known for starring in Ram Teri Ganga Maili.

Rajiv Kapoor's filmography includes popular movies like Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Mera Saathi and Hum To Chale Pardes among others. The actor turned a film producer with 1991 film Henna. He also backed the films Prem Granth and Aa Ab Laut Chalen. He was set to make a Bollywood comeback with Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhushan Kumar's joint production - a sports drama titled Toolsidas Junior, co-starring Sanjay Dutt. Rajiv Kapoor, who made his debut in Bollywood with the 1983 film Ek Jaan Hain Hum, was last seen in Zimmedaar.

Rajiv Kapoor was the son of the legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor and Krishna Raj Kapoor. He was the brother of Bollywood actors Rishi, Randhir Kapoor and Rima Kapoor and Ritu Nanda.
