The U.S. military says an Afghan girl gave birth aboard an Air Force C-17 that flew from the Middle East to Ramstein Air Base in Germany. The base is being used as a transit post for people being evacuated from Afghanistan.

The army's Air Mobility Command tweeted that the mom commenced having complications during the flight Saturday. It says: “The plane commander determined to descend in altitude to increase air strain withinside the plane, which helped stabilise and store the mom's life.”

On arrival at Ramstein, U.S. clinical employees got here aboard and delivered the kid withinside the plane's cargo bay. “The child and mom have been transported to a close-by clinical facility and are in good condition,” the army said.
