Airtel New Plans: Last month, TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) recommended launching affordable, data-free plans for 2G users. Following this, major telecom companies in India have introduced such plans. Jio and Airtel have launched voice-only plans designed specifically for users who rely on calling services and do not require internet data.

Jio’s Plans

Jio has introduced two voice-only plans priced at ₹458 and ₹1958. These plans offer 84 days and 365 days of validity, respectively, catering to 2G feature phone users.

  • Features:
    • Unlimited voice calling across India
    • Free national roaming
    • 900 free SMS
    • No data included
  • Benefit: At just ₹165 per month, this plan is ideal for 2G feature phone users seeking affordable unlimited calling.

  • Validity: 365 days
  • Features:
    • Unlimited voice calling

    • Total 3600 free SMS

  • ₹509 Plan: 84 days validity with 6GB data and unlimited calling.
  • ₹1999 Plan: 365 days validity with 24GB data and unlimited calling.

Impact of TRAI’s Initiative

TRAI’s recommendation has pushed telecom companies to address 2G users’ needs by offering affordable and relevant plans. These plans are particularly beneficial for customers prioritizing calling over data usage.

Conclusion

The new plans for 2G users are a significant step toward providing better services on a budget. Airtel and Jio’s voice-only plans are likely to benefit customers, and other telecom companies may follow suit in the near future.
