Bharti Airtel / Jio kept showing IPL, and here Airtel made a big move

Last week, amid fewer trading sessions, the market capitalization of 9 of the top 10 Sensex companies fell by ₹2.94 lakh crore. The biggest decline was recorded in TCS. Only Bharti Airtel's valuation increased. Sensex fell 2.64% and Nifty fell 2.61%. Reliance Industries remained on top.

Bharti Airtel: Last week, the Indian stock market registered a tremendous decline despite limited trading sessions, due to which the market capitalization of 9 out of the top 10 companies of the BSE Sensex saw a massive decline of Rs 2,94,170.16 crore. During this period, Bharti Airtel was the only company that increased its market value in adverse circumstances and gave some relief to the investors.

TCS suffered the biggest blow

The market valuation of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) declined the most during the week. The company's market cap fell by Rs 1,10,351.67 crore to Rs 11,93,769.89 crore. After this, Reliance Industries suffered a loss of Rs 95,132.58 crore and Infosys suffered a loss of Rs 49,050.04 crore.

Decline in both Sensex and Nifty

The BSE Sensex closed down by 2,050.23 points (2.64%) last week, while the Nifty also recorded a decline of 614.8 points (2.61%). Its impact was clearly visible on the market cap of the country's big companies.

  • Bajaj Finance: ₹14,127.07 crores down to ₹5,40,588.05 crores
  • ICICI Bank: ₹9,503.66 crores down, now ₹9,43,264.95 crores
  • HDFC Bank: ₹8,800.05 crores down, now ₹13,90,408.68 crores
  • HUL: ₹3,500.89 crores down, now ₹5,27,354.01 crores
  • State Bank of India (SBI): ₹3,391.35 crores down, now ₹6,85,232.33 crores
  • ITC: ₹312.85 crores down, now ₹5,12,515.78 crore
Airtel became investors' hope

Amidst all these declines, Bharti Airtel performed brilliantly and its market valuation increased by Rs 7,013.59 crore to Rs 9,94,019.51 crore. It was the only big company of the week that gave positive signals to investors.

Reliance became the most valuable company

Despite the huge decline, Reliance Industries remained on top with a market cap of ₹ 16.30 lakh crore. It was followed by HDFC Bank, TCS, and Bharti Airtel at second, third and fourth positions respectively.
