Farmer Protest: Farmer leaders who are agitating for their demands will march to Delhi today i.e. Tuesday from 10 am. Late last night in Chandigarh, efforts to persuade farmer leaders failed. Farmers are adamant on demands like MSP guarantee, loan waiver, Swaminathan report. After the meeting, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the government just wants to buy time. Farmers' demands are not serious. Farmer leader Jagjit Singh said that the government waives off the loans of corporate houses but does not listen to the farmers.Union Minister Arjun Munda, who spoke on behalf of the government, said that the government is concerned about the interests of the farmers of the country. Now farmers are forced to go to Delhi.What are the demands of the farmers?1. Swaminathan Committee's recommendations should be implementedThe biggest demand of the farmers is that they should be given minimum support price (MSP) on all crops as per the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission. In the Swaminathan Committee, it was recommended to keep the MSP 50 percent more than the average cost so that small farmers can get the right compensation for their crops.2. Loan waiver of farmers and laborersThis time, the farmer leaders who marched to Delhi are demanding from the government that it should waive off the government and non-government loans of all the farmers.3. Justice in Lakhimpur Kheri murder caseFarmer leaders want the central government to give justice to the victims of Lakhimpur Kheri violence and give a job to one member of the family. They are demanding strict action against the accused of Lakhimpur Kheri violence and sending them behind bars.4. Pension for farmers and laborersProviding pension to farmers and agricultural laborers is a major demand of the farmers. Farmers want that farmers above 60 years of age should be given a pension of Rs 10,000.5. Reducing import duty on agricultural commodities.Allowance should be increased to reduce import duty on agricultural commodities, milk products, fruits, vegetables and meat.6. There should be no privatization in education-health sectorApart from this, there is a demand to ban the privatization of education and health services. The issue of cancellation of the New Education Policy (2020) has also been included in the strike.7. 200 days work every year in MNREGAFarmers want farming to be linked to MNREGA. They should get a minimum wage of Rs 700 per day and be given minimum employment for 200 days in a year. mSection 144 imposed for one monthFarmers will move towards Delhi from Punjab-Haryana border from 10 am today. Meanwhile, Delhi Police has also made heavy arrangements to stop the farmers. Section 144 has been implemented in Delhi. The restrictions imposed under this will remain in force for a full month. Information has also been issued by Delhi Police. In which it has been said that there is a possibility of tension, deterioration of social harmony and spread of violence due to the farmers' movement.All borders adjoining Delhi sealedAll the borders including the Haryana border with Delhi have been sealed. Blockade has been imposed from Sindhu border of Delhi to Ghazipur border. Heavy cement blocks have been installed on the Sindhu border along with barbed fencing. Five layers of barricading has been done on the Kurukshetra border. There is tight security on the Tikri border also.What things will be banned?According to Delhi Police, there will be a ban on blocking roads, blocking roads and holding rallies. Even tractor trolleys will not be allowed to enter. Security checking has been made mandatory on all the borders of Delhi. There will be a ban on putting up inflammatory slogans and posters. Vehicles loaded with sticks and weapons will be stopped. There is a ban on collecting bricks, stones, acid and petrol.
