IND vs ENG / As soon as this player joined RCB, he was in such a situation that he forgot to bat!

England's explosive batsman Phil Salt is not living up to expectations for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2025. Salt, who was bought for Rs 11.50 crore, has scored only one half-century in the recent 11 T20 matches. His performance in the T20 series against India was also disappointing.

IND vs ENG: The performance of the England team has been lackluster so far in the ongoing 5-match T20 series between India and England. England are trailing 0-2 in this series, and many key players of their team are not living up to expectations. One of the big names among them is Phil Salt, from whom both RCB and England expected a big performance. But at the moment his bat seems to be silent.

RCB made a big bet in IPL

In the mega auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore showed great confidence in Phil Salt and bought him for a huge amount of Rs 11.50 crore. Big franchises like Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders also wanted to include him in their team, but RCB played the biggest bet. Phil Salt's previous performance seemed to prove this decision right, as he scored 435 runs in 12 matches in the IPL 2024 season.

However, Phil Salt's performance has been on the decline since joining RCB. He has played 11 T20 matches for RCB so far, but has been able to score a half-century only once in these. His batting has been ordinary in the rest of the matches, which has become a cause of concern for RCB.

Form crisis in the series against India

Phil Salt's poor performance in the current T20 series against India has further increased his difficulties. His performance in the first three matches was as follows:

First match: Out for zero off 3 balls.

Second match: Just 4 runs off 3 balls.

Third match (Rajkot): Just 5 runs off 7 balls.

It is clear from these figures that Phil Salt is not only failing to score runs, but is also struggling to stay on the pitch.

Continuously declining performance becomes a cause of concern

Out of the last 11 matches, Phil Salt has failed to even touch the double-digit mark in 10 innings. Out of these, 2 times he returned to the pavilion without opening the account. He has performed remarkably in only 3 innings, which include innings of 71 not out, 43 not out, and 13 runs. But all these innings have come in leagues like International League T20 and Abu Dhabi T10.

His form in IPL and on the international stage is under question. The trust that RCB had expressed in him seems to be going in vain at the moment.

Big headache for RCB and England

The poor form of an explosive batsman like Phil Salt is creating problems for both England and RCB. While RCB spent crores to include him in the team, England also had high hopes from his batting in their T20 series.

If Phil Salt does not return to his form soon, it could prove to be costly for both his career and the future of RCB. The team management and fans hope that this English batsman will soon return to his old style and show amazing performance with the bat.
