In reply, Gujarat scored 170 runs for the loss of two wickets in 17.5 overs and won the match.

After this, Jos Buttler took over the front. He shared a blistering partnership of 75 runs in 47 balls for the second wicket with Sai Sudarshan. During this, Sudarshan missed out on completing his half-century by just one run. He managed to score 49 runs in 36 balls with the help of seven fours and a six. Sherfane Rutherford, who came to bat at number four, also looked in great form. He shared an unbeaten partnership of 63 runs for the third wicket with Butler and led the team to victory. Wicketkeeper-batsman Butler remained unbeaten on 73 and Rutherford on 30. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood took one wicket each for RCB.
