New Delhi. The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday announced the names of female and male players who won the April 'Players of the Month' award. In the male player, 'Player of the Month' has been won by Pakistan captain Babar Azam, while in the women's player, 'Player of the Month' has been won by Australia's Alyssa Healy. The ICC released a list of the best performing male and female cricketers across all formats of international cricket for the month of April, with no Indian player getting a place for the first time.

Pakistan batsmen Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman were nominated for the International Cricket Council's Best Player of the Month award for April. According to an ICC release, apart from both the Pakistan batsmen, Nepal batsman Kushal Bhurtel was also nominated in the men's category. At the same time, apart from Australia's Alyssa Healy and Megan Schut, New Zealand leg Kasparek got a place in the women's section.

Pakistan captain Babar became the number one batsman in the ICC ODI rankings last month, surpassing Indian captain Virat Kohli. Babar played a match-winning innings of 94 off 82 balls in the third ODI against South Africa, gaining 13 ratings points to reach a career-best 865 points. At the same time, Jaman Fakhar scored two centuries during the two ODIs against South Africa, including the innings of 193 runs in the second match in Johannesburg.

ICC Voting Academy member Rameez Raja said, "In limited overs cricket, batsmen play in two ways." The first method is to fly the bowling with strength and stamina and the second way is to bat like Babar Azam in which great artistic shots are shot with ease. He was entitled to this award. ''

In women's cricket, Alyssa Healy scored 155 runs in three ODIs against New Zealand at an average of 51.66 and a strike rate of 98.72. She was the top scorer in the series during her team's win.
