Gujarat News: 18 people died tragically in a massive explosion in a firecracker factory in Deesa town of Banaskantha district of Gujarat on Tuesday morning, while many others were seriously injured. The death toll is expected to increase. At the time of the incident, 30 workers were working in the factory. There is panic in the area after this accident.

How did the accident happen?

A loud explosion occurred due to boiler explosion in a firecracker factory in Deesa town at around 9 am on Tuesday. The sound of the explosion was heard for several kilometers, causing panic in the surrounding people. According to eyewitnesses, a fire broke out in the factory immediately after the blast and the fire engulfed the entire factory. Local people immediately informed the fire department and administration.

Rescue operation continues

Fire department and SDRF teams have reached the spot and rescue work is going on. Several fire brigade vehicles are engaged in extinguishing the fire inside the factory. Deesa's sub-divisional magistrate Neha Panchal said that some people may still be buried under the debris, who are being searched. The injured have been admitted to local hospitals, where the condition of some remains critical.

Factory owner absconding

The factory owner is said to be absconding since this accident. Police and administration are investigating whether the factory had a license to manufacture firecrackers or not. Inspector Vijay Chaudhary of Deesa Rural Police Station said that a large part of the factory has been completely damaged. On the basis of preliminary investigation, there is a possibility of non-compliance of safety standards in the factory.

A video has surfaced after the accident, in which the walls of the factory are seen completely destroyed. Tin sheds are scattered and smoke is seen rising all around. According to local people, the sound of the explosion was so loud that even the windows of houses in the surrounding area shook.

Administration action

DM Mahir Patel reached the spot and ordered an investigation. The administration is also investigating whether the factory had the necessary permission to manufacture firecrackers. Strict action will be taken against those responsible for this accident.
