India-Bangladesh News: Bangladesh is not stopping its actions. First it stopped the border fencing work being done by India at many places and now it is even building bunkers on the border. Near Sukhdevpur village in Malda district of West Bengal, Bangladesh has built a bunker at 0 point of the border.Armed soldiers in the bunkerIndian farmers have complained that Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has built this bunker, in which armed soldiers are deployed. When Indian farmers go to do fencing work with the BSF, there is protest from the Bangladeshi side. Farmers say that BGB soldiers have also threatened to shoot. Due to this, farmers are not able to do farming, as Bangladeshi border guards continue to provoke them and encourage them to cut the crop grown on Indian land, increasing tension in the area.Attempt to stop fencing workPolitical instability has increased in the country since Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh in August. The interim government of Bangladesh has made anti-India statements many times, which keeps the situation of tension between the two countries on the border. Bangladesh has repeatedly stopped the work of fencing or barbed wire, especially on the 2217 km long border with West Bengal. They believe that this will cause trouble to their smugglers, due to which they are not allowing the fencing work to be completed.Recent clashesEarlier, on the India-Bangladesh border last Saturday, a small clash took place near the BSF border post when there was a dispute between the farmers of both the countries over crop theft. At around 11:45 am, when Indian farmers accused Bangladeshi farmers of crop theft, the matter escalated from an altercation to violence. Farmers from both sides gathered and started abusing each other and started pelting stones. However, the BSF and BGB immediately intervened and brought the situation under control. It is clear from this entire episode that the actions of the Bangladeshi administration are not only endangering the security of the border but also affecting the peace and harmony between the two countries. Further actions require dialogue at the diplomatic level so that peace can be maintained on the border and the adverse effects on the lives of local residents can be minimized.
