Cricket Desk: In what can be called a major development, Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has become a father for the first time. His wife Nupur Nagar gave birth to a daughter on Wednesday (November 25) at a private hospital in Delhi. She was admitted to the same hospital on Tuesday and welcomed her first child on the subsequent day. Interestingly, Bhuvneshwar and Nupur welcomed the baby girl on the very second day of their fourth marriage anniversary.

The duo tied knots on November 23, 2017, a couple of weeks before Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s marriage. Meanwhile, congratulatory messages poured in from different quarters after the major news was revealed. It has to be noted that Bhuvneshwar’s family endured a tough time this year with the fast bowler’s father passing away in May.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to reach his residence by Thursday

As of now, Bhuvneshwar’s mother Indresh and sister Rekha are present with his wife in the hospital. MDCA treasurer Rakesh Goyal said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s welcomed the daughter around 9 in the morning. Bhuvneshwar, who’s away from his family, received the major news on phone. It is expected that the pacer will reach his residence in Meerut by Thursday.

Speaking of the pacer’s professional assignments, he featured in the recently-concluded T20I series between India and New Zealand, which the Men in Blue clinched 3-0. Bhuvneshwar, who couldn’t make much mark in this year’s T20 World Cup, was phenomenal against the Kiwis and was instrumental in taking India to the series win.

He took three wickets in as many games with his economy rate being 7.5. Bhuvneshwar getting his mojo back is indeed great news for Indian cricket as several important series and tournaments are in the pipeline. As the next edition of the T20 World Cup, which is slated to take place in Australia, is less than a year away.

Hence, the team management, under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, would aim to form a formidable squad heading into the competition. With many quality fast bowlers in fray, the veteran pacer must be at his absolute best to hold his place in the national team. Bhuvneshwar’s next international assignment would be the ODI and T20I series in India’s upcoming tour of South Africa.
