Maratha Reservation: Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, while discussing the issue of Maratha reservation in the Legislative Assembly, has replied that legal reservation will be given to the Maratha community and no one else's reservation will be affected for this. Chief Minister Shinde has appealed to the agitators agitating for reservation to have faith in his government. Along with this, CM Shinde has also revealed many other important information.Special session will be called this monthResponding to the discussion on the issue of Maratha reservation in the Assembly, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that the report of the State Backward Classes Commission will be received by the government in the coming month. After this, a special session of the Assembly will be called in the coming month of February and legal reservation will be given to the Maratha community. He assured that no one else's reservation will be affected due to this. The Chief Minister also said that the state government has asked the Backward Classes Commission to prepare new empirical data and has provided them with adequate manpower, offices and funds of Rs 360 crore.Curative petition filed in Supreme CourtMaharashtra CM Eknath Shinde said that the state has filed a curative petition in the Supreme Court on Maratha reservation. If permission is given for open hearing on this petition, then the government will submit more information to the court. Eknath Shinde alleged that the previous Mahavikas Aghadi government did not take the Maratha reservation petitions and court proceedings seriously. He said that if complete information and details had been placed before the court at that time, the result would have been different.Opposition walked outOpposition parties, dissatisfied with the Chief Minister's reply on the issue of Maratha reservation, walked out of the House. Opposition parties said that the government is completely indifferent on this issue. He said that the government is only trying to kill time. The government did not clarify how it would ultimately provide reservation to Marathas as well as other communities.
