Arvind Kejriwal News: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal's troubles are increasing one after the other. First the Delhi High Court stayed his bail and now the CBI has also arrested him. After appearing in the Rouse Avenue Court, the CBI had sought judicial custody of Kejriwal from the court. Kejriwal is in jail in connection with the investigation of the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor scam in Delhi. This is not law but this is dictatorship, emergency.CM Kejriwal withdrew the petition in the Supreme CourtAfter the CBI arrest, CM Kejriwal withdrew the petition in the Supreme Court challenging the order of the Delhi High Court. The vacation bench of Justice Manoj Mishra and Justice SVN Bhatti allowed Kejriwal to withdraw his petition. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal, told the bench that since the high court has passed a detailed order on June 25, he would like to file a substantive appeal. Singhvi told the bench that the developments are taking a new shape every day and now Kejriwal has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).The high court, in its order dated June 25, maintained the stay on the bail order of the lower court. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the ED, said that he has responded to Kejriwal's plea which can be taken on record. The bench heard the arguments and allowed Kejriwal to file an appeal.Arrested by ED on March 21Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 and the Rouse Avenue Court granted him regular bail on June 20. It was repealed in 2022 after the Delhi Lieutenant Governor ordered a CBI probe into alleged irregularities and corruption in the excise policy.
