Maharashtra crisis / Big blow to Uddhav Thackeray, minister Uday Samant also rebelled

Shiv Sena, one of the ruling party of Maharashtra, suffered another major setback on Sunday. According to reports, the state's Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant has joined the Eknath Shinde faction in Guwahati. He is the eighth minister from the Uddhav Thackeray cabinet to join the Shinde-led rebel group. Seven ministers have already joined the Shinde faction.

Maharashtra: Shiv Sena, one of the ruling party of Maharashtra, suffered another major setback on Sunday. According to reports, the state's Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant has joined the Eknath Shinde faction in Guwahati. Uday Samant is considered very close to Aaditya Thackeray, son of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Aaditya Thackeray was shouting that the rebels will not be taken back in the party, till then another minister has given a big blow. Uday Samant has left for Guwahati from Surat by chartered plane. Aaditya Thackeray has warned the rebel party MLAs present in Guwahati that the road leading from Mumbai airport to Vidhan Bhavan passes through Worli. Mumbai's Worli area has traditionally been a stronghold of the Shiv Sena, from where Aaditya Thackeray is an MLA. Shiv Sena president and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's son Aditya (30) while addressing party workers on Saturday evening said that there is no place for rebels in the party.

MLAs of Shinde faction currently camping in Guwahati

He made this statement in the midst of the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra, triggered by the rebellion of senior minister Eknath Shinde. Most of the Shiv Sena MLAs have supported Shinde and are currently camping in Guwahati in the BJP-ruled state of Assam. Shinde and his group have claimed that they represent the real Shiv Sena.
