Earthquake News: A terrible earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday, measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale. After the building collapsed, rescue workers immediately reached the spot and the injured were rushed to the hospital.Relief and rescue operations continueRelief operations were started immediately after the earthquake. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres announced that the United Nations has mobilized to help the needy in Southeast Asia and an amount of $ 5 million has been allocated for this.India extended a helping handIndia has also extended a helping hand to Myanmar during this disaster. India is preparing to send more than 15 tonnes of relief material, including tents, sleeping bags, food, hygiene kits and essential medicines. Indian Air Force's C-130J aircraft will leave for Myanmar from Hindon Airbase carrying relief material.Possibility of aftershocksThe main earthquake was followed by an aftershock of 4.2 magnitude at 11:56 pm local time on Friday night. The National Center for Seismology (NCS) confirmed that the aftershock occurred at a depth of 10 km, making it likely that there will be further aftershocks.
