The person making the threat said on the phone that 'will kill you before Diwali'. Santokh Singh got this call when he was going from Beas in Punjab to Tarn Taran. The family is very scared after this call. Santokh Singh has lodged a complaint with the police. This is not the first time that Shehnaaz's father has received death threats. They have been attacked before.

On 25 December 2021, Shahnaz's father was attacked by two people. The attack happened when he had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Two unknown people had opened fire on Santokh Singh in which he narrowly survived. Four bullets had hit his car. At the time of the incident, he had stopped on the way from Amritsar to Beas.

Gunman saves Santokh Singh

Police investigation revealed that both the accused who opened fire were residents of Amritsar. Santokh Singh told that when his bodyguard had to go to the washroom, he stopped his car near Gurdaspuria Dhaba. The gunmen fired 4 bullets at him which hit his car. Santokh Singh's gunman saved him. Soon the attackers fled from there.
