Boris Johnson told in a conversation with reporters that the way he was welcomed in Gujarat, he felt like Sachin Tendulkar and Amitabh Bachchan. He said that in Ahmedabad, I had posters all around, due to which I was very much overwhelmed.

Discussion between PM Modi and Johnson

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held detailed discussions with his visiting British counterpart Boris Johnson to further expand mutual cooperation in the fields of defence, trade and clean energy. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a tweet, 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Boris Johnson held talks in New Delhi. The two leaders discussed ways to promote bilateral cooperation between India and the UK.

Finalization of Free Trade Agreement

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Boris Johnson on Friday reviewed all dimensions of bilateral ties including 'Roadmap 2030' and decided to finalize talks on a free trade agreement (FTA) by the end of this year. The two leaders also agreed on a new and expanded bilateral defense and security alliance. Modi invited Britain to join India's National Hydrogen Mission. PM Modi and Johnson reviewed the progress made towards the implementation of 'Roadmap 2030' and set an ambitious target of deepening collaboration in various sectors.
