Bihar Government / Bridges are continuously falling in Bihar, government took big action, suspended 15 engineers

Bihar Government: Taking seriously the matter of bridges falling continuously in Bihar, the Bihar government has taken major action. The state government has suspended 15 engineers for negligence. These include 11 engineers from the Water Resources Department and 4 from the Rural Works Department. Along with this, an explanation has been sought from two engineers.

6 old and 3 under-construction culverts collapsed

The state government has said that 9 bridges and culverts collapsed in various districts of the state recently. Of these, 6 were very old while 3 were under construction. According to the state government, in the departmental investigation it was found that the concerned engineers did not take precautionary measures to keep these bridges and culverts safe. Negligence has also been shown at the level of the contractor.

Order for construction of new bridges

Let us tell you that the state government has also ordered the construction of new bridges. Apart from this, the State Bridge Construction Corporation has been requested for maintenance and repair as soon as possible. Recently, after incidents of bridge collapse were reported in many places including Siwan, Araria, West Champaran, the government has taken strict action and suspended the engineers.
