The way has been cleared for the formation of a new government in Nepal. Nepal's PM Sher Bahadur Deuba and Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) Chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda (Pushpa Kamal Dahal) have agreed to form a new government after a meeting.

Nepal Election 2022 : The way has been cleared for the formation of a new government in Nepal. Nepal's PM Sher Bahadur Deuba and Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) Chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda (Pushpa Kamal Dahal) have agreed to form a new government after a meeting. According to sources, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda met at the Prime Minister's residence in Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress-led alliance has won 82 seats.


Agreement made between PM Deuba and Prachanda

According to Ganesh Shah, a member of the CPN-Maoist Centre, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and Pushpakamal Dahal Prachanda discussed the current political situation and the possibilities of forming a new government. He said that both the leaders have reached an agreement on continuing the existing ruling alliance further.


Results of 150 seats declared

Let us tell you that in the parliamentary elections of Nepal, the ruling coalition led by Nepali Congress maintained its lead. Under the direct voting election system, the results of 150 seats have been declared so far. Out of these, the alliance of Nepali Congress won 82 seats. In Nepal's 275-member House of Representatives, 165 seats are elected by direct voting, while the remaining 110 seats are elected through the proportional election system.


138 seats needed for majority

Know that for a majority in the House, a party or coalition needs 138 seats. Elections to the House of Representatives and seven provincial assemblies were held on Sunday.


At the same time, in the counting of proportional system, till now CPN-UML was leading with a total of 19,11,527 votes. According to Republica, the Nepali Congress came second with 18,39,884 votes. Apart from this, CPN (Maoist Centre) came third with 8,11,315 votes.
