Arvind Kejriwal News: Aam Aadmi Party convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal made two big announcements for Delhiites in a press conference today. He said that the registration process under Mahila Samman Nidhi and Sanjivani Yojana will start from tomorrow. The aim of these schemes is to provide economic and social security to women and the elderly.

Mahila Samman Nidhi: Assistance of ₹ 2100 every month

Kejriwal said that under Mahila Samman Nidhi, mothers and sisters of Delhi will be given financial assistance of ₹ 2100 every month. He said,

"Ever since we announced this scheme, people were constantly asking when the registration will start. We want to tell today that registration will start from tomorrow. The special thing is that women do not need to go anywhere for registration. Our team will go to their home and complete this process."

Sanjivani Yojana: An effort to benefit the elderly

Along with Mahila Samman Nidhi, Kejriwal also announced the launch of Sanjivani Yojana. Under this scheme, the elderly will be given financial help and social security. He said that 10 to 15 lakh elderly people will get the benefit of this scheme.

Voter ID is mandatory

It is mandatory to have a voter ID for registration of both the schemes. Kejriwal also said that if someone's vote has been cut, then they should be informed about it. He himself and Chief Minister Atishi will start the registration process by going door to door.

Ambedkar scholarship also announced for Dalit students

Kejriwal had earlier announced the Ambedkar Scholarship Scheme for free education abroad for Dalit students of Delhi. Under this scheme, eligible students will be eligible to study in foreign universities. The Delhi government will bear the full cost of their education, travel and accommodation. Children of government employees will also get the benefit of this scheme.

Double good news for the people of Delhi

Kejriwal said that lakhs of people will get direct benefit from these schemes.

30-40 lakh women will get financial assistance from Mahila Samman Nidhi.

10-15 lakh elderly people will get relief from Sanjeevani Yojana.
