Bahujan Samaj Party: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has forgiven her nephew Akash Anand by giving him another chance. However, she has made it clear that now she will not make Akash the successor of the party. This decision not only reflects the internal structure of the party, but also reaffirms the strict and disciplined image of Mayawati's leadership.

What did Mayawati say?

Issuing a statement on her ex (former Twitter) handle, Mayawati wrote, "In view of Akash Anand publicly admitting his mistakes in his 4 posts today and giving full respect to the seniors, as well as not giving in to his father-in-law's words and dedicating his life to the BSP party and the movement, it has been decided to give him another chance."

She also clarified that at present she is completely healthy and as long as her health supports her, she herself will continue to lead the party. She said, "There is no question of making someone my successor. I am firm on my decision and will remain so."

Akash's apology and attempt to start afresh

Recently, Akash Anand had publicly apologized on X, saying that he was ashamed of all his mistakes and would not make any mistake that would hurt the self-respect of the party in future. He had humbly appealed to Mayawati to give him another chance.

Strictness on father-in-law Ashok Siddharth

Mayawati forgave Akash, but took a tough stand on his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth, saying that his activities were "unforgivable". She accused him of anti-party activities, factionalism and harming Akash's political career and made it clear that there was no question of re-inducting him into the party.
