Ashok Siddharth: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati took an important political decision on Sunday. She removed her nephew Akash Anand, who is considered her successor, from all the posts of the party. With this, Mayawati made it clear that as long as she is alive, she will not have any successor. This decision is said to have been taken to maintain the balance of power and organizational discipline within the party.

Change in leadership

Mayawati relieved Akash Anand from the post of National Coordinator and handed over this responsibility to Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam and Anand Kumar in his place. This change can prove to be a turning point in the organizational structure of BSP, as Mayawati had already described Akash Anand as the future of the party.

Mayawati's attack on Ashok Siddharth

With this decision, Mayawati also launched a scathing attack on Akash Anand's father-in-law and former MP Ashok Siddharth. She alleged that Ashok Siddharth was doing factionalism in the party and conspiring to weaken the organization. Mayawati clearly said that Ashok Siddharth is responsible for ruining the political career of Akash Anand.

Who is Ashok Siddharth?

Ashok Siddharth was once counted among the prominent leaders of the Bahujan Samaj Party. He had close relations with Mayawati, due to which he was sent to the Rajya Sabha on a BSP ticket. For BSP, he took charge in states like Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

Ashok Siddharth was born on 5 February 1965 in Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh. His father was close to BSP founder Kanshiram. For this reason Ashok Siddharth also joined the party and started working for the organization. Being a confidant of Mayawati, he was entrusted with many important responsibilities.

Expulsion from the party and controversy

Recently, a controversy arose over the wedding of Ashok Siddharth's son. Mayawati was angry that only selected leaders were invited to the wedding. After this, she expelled Ashok Siddharth from the party on charges of factionalism. Now Mayawati has also removed Akash Anand from the posts and made it clear that she will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline in the party.

BSP's way forward

After this development, many questions have arisen regarding the leadership in the Bahujan Samaj Party. Mayawati has retained her leadership and has indicated that no change can take place in the BSP without her approval. The new responsibilities of Ramji Gautam and Anand Kumar will determine the future direction of the party.
