Rajasthan Politics: The ongoing tussle between two veteran BJP leaders - Cabinet Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar and State Vice President Dr. Jyoti Mirdha - has created a stir within the party. The sharp statements and mutual allegations of both the leaders have indicated that there is a lack of harmony within the party, due to which the workers are also confused.Beginning of the confrontation: With a viral letterThe foundation of this dispute was laid last month, when a complaint letter written by Khinvsar BJP MLA Revantram Danga to Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma went viral on social media. In the letter, the MLA expressed displeasure that the work of the Leader of Opposition is being done easily in his area, while his own recommended works are pending. He also alleged that not a single transfer was done on his recommendation. As soon as this letter went viral, Jyoti Mirdha indirectly accused Cabinet Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar of being behind it. After Mirdha's allegation became public, the controversy came out in the open.Gajendra Singh's counterattackGajendra Singh Khinvsar, while reacting to the entire episode, said that "If someone is losing elections again and again, what is our fault in it?" His sarcastic statement directly points towards Jyoti Mirdha, who has been defeated in the Lok Sabha elections in 2014, 2019 and now 2024.Rejecting the allegations, Khinvsar said that making allegations without proof is a sign of petty mentality. He also claimed that it has been found out who leaked the MLA's letter, but it would not be appropriate to reveal the name as the matter is confidential. Two giants, two backgroundsGajendra Singh Khinvsar is an experienced and old BJP leader, who is considered close to former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. Currently he is handling the responsibility of the Medical and Health Department. He is considered to have a strong grip on administration and organization.Jyoti Mirdha is a comparatively new BJP leader who recently left Congress and joined the saffron camp. She has been a well-known face in Nagaur politics and is popular among the people due to her social work and medical background.Internal politics or leadership challenge? This tussle has raised the question whether this is just a personal tussle between two leaders, or is it a sign of the internal struggle going on in the state BJP for leadership. It has become necessary for the BJP leadership to handle the situation in time, otherwise this dispute can harm the party's election preparations and public image.
